Day 1 – Arrival & Dubare Elephants
Your journey begins: Our driver picks you up from the nearest major city (Bangalore/Mysore airport or railway station) and drives you through the lush Western Ghats. Afternoon: Arrive and visit Dubare Elephant Camp – watch the gentle giants bathe in the river, and if you're lucky, you can even help scrub them. Evening: Check into a charming coffee estate homestay. Take a walk through the plantations as the sun sets. Dinner: Savour authentic Coorgi cuisine (pandi curry, kadumbuttu) prepared by your hosts. Overnight in Coorg.
Local tip: The best time for elephant interaction is before 10 AM or after 4 PM.
Day 2 – Waterfalls, Temples & Views
8:00 AM: Breakfast with a view of the coffee bushes. 9:00 AM: Drive to Abbey Falls – a 70-foot cascade surrounded by spice plantations. 10:30 AM: Visit Omkareshwara Temple, a beautiful blend of Gothic and Islamic architecture. 12:00 PM: Raja's Seat – a scenic viewpoint that was once the favourite spot of Kodagu kings. 1:30 PM: Lunch at a local eatery. 3:00 PM: Explore the peaceful Golden Temple (Tibetan Monastery) in Kushalnagar. Evening: Optional jeep ride to Mandalpatti Peak for a panoramic sunset. Overnight in Coorg.
Day 3 – Talakaveri & Departure
8:00 AM: Breakfast and check out. 9:00 AM: Drive to Talakaveri, the source of the river Cauvery, nestled in the Brahmagiri hills. The temple and the tank here hold deep spiritual significance. 10:30 AM: Quick stop at Bhagamandala, where two rivers meet. 12:30 PM: Begin your journey back to your drop-off point (Bangalore/Mysore). Evening: Arrive with a heart full of coffee-scented memories.
